What is Color Mixing?
Color mixing combines two or more colors to create a new color. This tool uses weighted averaging to mix colors, where each color's contribution is determined by its weight.
Mixing Methods
Additive Mixing (RGB)
Used in digital displays. Combines light to create brighter colors.
- Red + Green = Yellow
- Green + Blue = Cyan
- Red + Blue = Magenta
- All colors = White
Subtractive Mixing (CMYK)
Used in printing. Combines pigments to create darker colors.
- Cyan + Magenta = Blue
- Cyan + Yellow = Green
- Magenta + Yellow = Red
- All colors = Black
How Weights Work
Weights determine each color's influence on the final result:
- Equal weights - Colors contribute equally
- Higher weight - Color has more influence
- Zero weight - Color is excluded
