Morning (8:30–10:30 AM): Alignment & Planning

  • Review metrics & dashboards: Deployment health, error rates, incidents, open PRs, sprint velocity, etc.
  • Check emails & Slack: Prioritize urgent escalations or cross-team dependencies.
  • Daily stand-up: Quick sync with the team to unblock engineers and align on daily goals.
  • 1:1 with tech leads: Understand current progress, risks, and any hiring or technical decisions needed.

Midday (10:30 AM–2:00 PM): Execution & Collaboration

  • Design/Architecture reviews: Participate or guide system design discussions and pull request reviews.
  • Cross-functional meetings: Collaborate with Product, Design, and QA on roadmap priorities and delivery timelines.
  • Mentorship: Spend time coaching engineers on design choices or career development.

Afternoon (2:00–6:00 PM): Strategy, Hiring & Management

  • Hiring interviews: Participate in technical or managerial interviews to build the team.
  • Performance management: Prepare feedback, review OKRs, and check progress toward sprint goals.
  • Strategic planning: Evaluate long-term initiatives, tech debt reduction, or scalability improvements.
  • 1:1s: Regular catch-ups with team members to discuss progress and career paths.

Evening (6:00–7:00 PM): Wrap-Up & Reflection

  • Respond to pending communication with other departments or senior leadership.
  • Plan next day’s priorities based on blockers and dependencies.
  • Document decisions and update sprint boards or team notes.
